Additionally, there are thousands of community created content on the Workshop. The base game includes 15 classics like Chess, Poker, Jigsaw Puzzles, Dominoes, and Mahjong. You can do anything you want in Tabletop Simulator. All with an easy to use system integrated with Steam Workshop. There you can play with all the cards and all the quests while you wait for the reprints.Create your own original games, import custom assets, automate games with scripting, set up complete RPG dungeons, manipulate the physics, create hinges & joints, and of course flip the table when you are losing the game. Or, if you're willing to play online, get yourself set up on OCTGN. The game isn't going to suffer just because you're missing some cards. My advice would be to pick up the packs you can get, either at your shop or online, and play it as much as you'd like. (As opposed to Magic, where they're only printing sheets for a few sets at a time.) You just have to be a little patient.Īs for LotR:LCG, I love it because it's such a good solo game. (I'd grabbed a few of them locally before deciding to buy the rest.) Which apparently coincided with a boost in popularity, since now a handful of the older ones are out of stock.įFG is printing more as we speak (and waiting for some reprints to ship), but it takes them time, since their print runs aren't as large as Magic and they have to print a bunch of different packs for a bunch of different games. I bought up almost all of the packs about a month ago online. You're just trying to buy in to LotR:LCG at a bad time. Octgn image packs for mage wars android#I should mention that LotR: LCG was my first LCG purchase, but I have played others (Call of Cthulhu, Android Netrunner). Probably due to the fact that I play a lot of games with my children. I like both, but I have a sweet spot for co-op games, like Castle Ravenloft, Forbidden Island, and Castle Panic. On these nights, I stay up all night, and a solitaire game is a great way to kill the time. I am a night shift employee and occasionally have one night off between two work days. I prefer LotR: LCG to the others for two reasons: What if Wizards of the Coast were to slowly make every game their red-headed step child each time a new game came out? The problem is that their newest baby, Android Netrunner, is taking all of their attention. Not only that, but Steve Jackson Games prints so many, you'll never be left empty-handed. Heck, over the past 10 years, only a handful of Munchkin expansions have been discontinued, and they're still pretty easy to find. If Fantasy Flight won't put forth the effort to make the game enjoyable for late-gamers and people that don't just go for the shiniest object in the room, I'm not going to put the effort into giving them much of my money. I'll just stick with MtG and one-purchase games like Elder Sign. The local store owner told me that when Hunt For Gollum came out, they got 2 shipments, and the expansion was super popular, and then all of a sudden, it was unavailable and has been ever since.Īll in all, I really like the game, but I don't know if I'll be buying any other LCGs if this is how it's going to be. The reason that MtG still survives after so many cards are hard to find is due to the fact that they only quit printing cards for an expansion when a new set comes out, and they print TONS. The only expansions thare are even available from my FLGS are the bigger ones (The Hobbit Over Hill and Under Hill, Khazad-Dum, etc), and the store owner said most of the past released expansions aren't even available any longer unless you're willing to pay $80+. I bought LotR: LCG not too long ago, and played it over and over. I just posted this over at FFG Forums, but felt the need to vent the same here as well (plus, Reddit has much better chance of response and subsequent discussion).
